Sized Up: It's tough to find a spec-light TV at this size, so our "value" pick is still a 1080p, 120Hz model. LG does it right!
World Wide Wow: The LD550 is well-connected, featuring the NetCast internet service (via ethernet cable or WiFi), and it's ready for wireless 1080p, streamed from a media box.

VIZIO XVT553SV 55" LED TV
Vizio Value: Vizio somehow puts out top-notch products for much cheaper than competitors. The VF553XVT isn't quite as sharp as the most expensive LEDs, but it's darn close, with local dimming LEDs and a 240 Hz refresh rate.
Now Connected: Vizio VIA is the best internet TV service out there. Just hook up an ethernet cable or lock in a WiFi connection and you'll get access to all your favorite video streaming and social media services in a smooth, intuitive interface.

Samsung UN55C7000 55" LED 3D TV
3D Is Here: Holy smokes, it's actually here. Pop on the pair of included glasses and watch movies pop out (when they're finally released, that is).
Works In 2D, Too: This TV still produces a beautiful LED-backlit, 240Hz picture in regular ol' 2D as well.

Vizio TV (Sandi O — 11/12/2010)
Bought a 55" Vizio hdtv?Digital at costco on sale for $999.00 (nice price) and love it. A bit of a chore trying to hook up digital but believe that it is our cable provider that hooked up wrong. It is all good now, have surround sound and great picture. Can't beat the price and if for any you do not like or it is not compatiable, or something is wrong Costco has no problem taking things back or exchanging.

Yes, the burn in issue is a thing of the past. I like Panasonic and Samsung as they are the only ones making Plasmas anymore. If you can get a Pioneer Kuro on clearance, jump at it.

what can you tell me about sound drag on the samsung 55 6300. saw some reviews and they killed it.also is it to early to buy led 55?

Hmm I haven't heard that myself. Not sure what you mean by too early, but they've been available for a few years. Go for a local-backlit model rather than edge-lit.

VIZIO the Best for Your Buck (George Hanley — 11/12/2010)
I saw it at Sam's Club and it was a demo/open box model, and when I got it home on cable HD it was even better. It went for $900. and was the previous model with the 120 hz refresh rate. It has awesome sound also. Go big or go home! I was so confused with all the claims and counterclaims that i just had to stop and think about what I really needed, and how much I was willing to spend. WILLING TO SPEND
