Editor's Review
Eco-conscious consumers will appreciate the amazing energy efficiency of Sony’s EX720. This (non-local-dimming) edge-lit LED 3D TV will save some cash on your energy bill, but it’s also much cheaper than high-end LEDs off the shelf, too. It’s almost identical to the NX720 model, as there is not all that much to differentiate between the two (think of the EX720 as the Eco-chic twin with lower-quality edge lighting). It’s 3D capable with active-shutter technology and features Sony’s X-Reality processing with a respectable refresh rate of 240Hz for a smooth and satisfying picture. Also included are great Internet features like Sony’s Video On Demand and Qriocity. When the specs are lined up, what really distinguishes this model is its ability to conserve energy. The sweet connectivity and low price tag helps too.
