The first thing that comes to mind when you see the D8000 LED TV is how gorgeous it looks. Its ultra-thin body combined with a bezel that measures a mere 5cm gives this set a distinctive visual appeal that makes any room look a little cooler. The Samsung 8 Series has been one of the most celebrated LED TV lines of the past few years. This season, Samsung claims it will be even better and promises an improved active-3D performance with less crosstalk (an issue that came up in last year’s model). LED edge-lighting (not full-array, unfortunately) and a speedy 240 Hz refresh rate delivers lifelike clarity, a stunning color contrast and super slick action with virtually no blurring. To add to the improved 3D experience, Samsung has redesigned their glasses specifically for the D8000 to be lighter, more comfortable and, instead of batteries, can be powered by USB or a charging dock. Along with its superb picture quality, the D8000 also has other great features including built-in Wi-Fi and a Smart TV hub for easy connection to the Internet for web browsing, movies, social media and more. The technophiles might enjoy Samsung’s innovative touch screen remote -- it's like a single-purpose iPod Touch -- but for most consumers, it will probably end up being a little too gimmicky and complicated. This TV would be an ideal centerpiece for a home theater, but it's available in a few smaller sizes that could fit in just about any room. Even the more modest models will cost a pretty penny, though, so start saving now.
