This is DigitalAdvisor's "Cool" 23" LCD TV. Admit it, you'll get your friends to ooh and ahh when they watch you slip a DVD into the side of the TV - no messy cables, no DVD player to hide somewhere near the screen. Not only that, Toshiba makes a really nice LCD TV as well, so you're really getting a three way deal: Brand name (Toshiba), excellent LCD screen, and a built-in DVD player.
Strong Reputation
This Toshiba REGZA 23HV87 DVD/TV Combo is just the latest model in a line of very successful, very popular televisions, and we're confident that this set will uphold the sterling reputation that Toshiba has cultivated in combo TVs.
The Price: High
Winning the trifecta of brand, quality, and features doesn't come cheap. DigitalAdvisor is seeing discounted "no-name" 26" TVs of good quality priced at around $500; add a brand name to the mix, and you'll pay around $750; and then add a feature like a DVD player (these normally sell for around $100-$200 as standalone unit), and you're looking at about $1,000. But, if you're the kind of person that likes the security of a brand name, and also likes the clean look of an included DVD - let alone the "wow!" factor your friends will admire - this Toshiba is for you.
