Why does the please wait light stay on too long on LC-32D40U ?

This happens after the set has been turned off for several hours. To
correct the problem, I turn the set off and then back on.

This sounds like a defect to me, although it might be benign. I would contact Sharp to see if there's anything they can tell you or do.
