Volume control

I'm looking to buy my 1st LCD. I see that some list some type of volume control to stop commercials from blaring which is VERY appealing to me. Is this model equipped with such a thing? Is it pretty much standard on models nowadays or is it truly an added feature?

This features doesn't really stop commercial volume, but rather adjusts it to normal. In general commercials are much louder than the TV programming, because of the advertising implications, etc, and the newer TVs just stop the volume from exceeding a certain limit so that the volume from each sound channel is equal. Some people like this setting some do not, it really changes some of the special effects for movies. From what I've seen Sharp, Samsung, and Sony usually don't carry the feature because it distorts audio, whereas some of the smaller TVs use it as a selling point for stopping loud commercials. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the feature, and none of the documentation on this TV indicates that it has this "feature". Hope this helps.
