If you want to enjoy yourself without worrying that technology is going to speed past you and make your fancy new TV obsolete, the Samsung LN32A550 LCD HDTV is about as future-proof as you can get.
It's got 1080p high-definition resolution, which is something we wouldn't normally advise on TVs smaller than 46 or 50 inches. Frankly, cramming all those pixels in on such a small screen doesn't make a huge difference (unless you're an eagle-eyed videophile). But for those who want the best they can get, and who might want to use a Blu-Ray player or next-gen video console, the capability is here.
The LN32A550 also has an excellent, super-fast response time and plenty of inputs for your HD accessories and devices. Definitely worth a closer look if you've got the money and the inclination. Samsung TVs are usually quite good.
