What is the quality of a LCD tv on regular cable?

I am considering a Samsung LCD 26 inch, I have regular cable will the picture quality be distored. I guess the question is is LCD as good on regular cable as the conventional analog tv's

Unfortunately this TV suffers from alot of problems using just a basic signal, it has a slower refresh rate that requires a few seconds to just change a channel. Side to Side viewing is horrible and elevational changes ( stand up or sit down ) will leave you dissappointed.

The unit runs hot shortening its overall lifespan, many return issues are found all over the web for this model, PIP issues with interoperability between sources of video signal make this a unit to "skip and look elsewhere" model.
