We bought this based on the quality of the Philips plasma 42" TV we have in the living room and was not disappointed, for the most part. Sound is typical of these sets, maybe a notch above par, and the lapse time switching between HD and conventional channels could be faster. Picture quality is outstanding; so clear it looks live! You don't get that 'stretched' look that so many other widescreens display. Remote is easy to use and set up took minutes.
