Do I have to get an HD receiver box in order to receive HD on this TV?

I do not yet have cable or satellite. If I buy an HD receiver box and later get cable, what happens then?

You can get a limited number of channels in HD over-the-air, with a regular antenna. This depends on where you live and what stations are around you.

For definite access to lots of HD channels, you'll need a special HD cable or satellite box.

UHF antenna, to be precise. It also has the added benefit of being uncompressed and if you have a good line of site to the broadcast towers the image can be crystal clear.

recommend you check out AntennaWeb.org. It'll not only give you good recommendations for what best works in your area, but if a broadcast signal is even accessible from it.
