A fantastic HDTV that's getting a little long in the tooth. We still like it, but there are fewer and fewer options for buying it every day; Still, it's worth checking out, you might just get an excellent deal that you wouldn't find on a newer TV.
This Panasonic 50" Plasma television is a great example of balance, bringing satisfying and appealing features together with a big-screen display, while thankfully resisting the urge to go overboard and pile on tons of unnecessary extras (and unnecessary cost, too). In the end, the TH-50PX60U emerges as a fine choice for consumers interested in a reliable brand-name television at an affordable price. Hovering around $1,700, there's little room to argue that this TV isn't worth your attention.
Across-the-Board Satisfaction
We've compiled hundreds of reviews from actual owners of the TH-50PX60U from all across the web, and the love of this plasma set is nearly unanimous. Its slim 3.7-inch deep frame makes it a prime candidate for wall-mounting, and in the words of a real live owner, "The HD picture is simply stunning, with very realistic colors and good black rendering." So just because this set can't go all the way up to 1080p, don't think for a second that it's a slouch in the picture quality department. 720p will get you great HD images, and won't strain the budget like a higher-resolution set would.
