Though it's often overlooked, DLP, or digital light processing, is probably the best way to get a large-screen television at an affordable price. It's not as sleek as LCD or plasma (typically, DLP TVs are 12-14 inches deep), but it also won't thin out your bank account.
The Mitsubishi WD-65735 DLP is a full HD 1080p television, and can be had for just over $1,000. The screen is 65-inches on the diagonal, and it comes with 3 HDMI inputs for best-quality HD connections. That's pretty awesome.
