Charles,

You should look at our picks for the top 60" and up televisions. The Mitsubishi 65" DLP might be what you're looking for, especially at less than $2K.

I don't know why I asked this group of morons. I specified PICTURE-TUBE HD. Do you idiots know what a picture tube is? It does not mean SCREEN - it means a special KIND of screen.
As of Jan. 2007, the largest PICTURE-TUBE was 42" (Diagonal) I just wondered if it had been surpassed. Apparently not.
The TV screens you are suggesting are all REAR PROJECTION. TRY READING CAREFULLY IN THE FUTURE. (I had to land on a website for "D" students!)

Charles,

Sorry to misread your post, but a simple search on Yahoo for "tube hdtv" revealed a number of web locations including the 30" LG DU-30F10. I hope this better answers your question.

The Loewe Aconda 38"widescreen hdtv is by far the King of all HDTV's but very expensive. But the black ang gray levels as well as the deepest colors out perform ALL other TV"s..LCD,Plasma or otherwise. However the German manufactuer pulled out of the USA.Glad I got mine while they were here!
