Mitsubishi WD-65833 has a "piano black" (shiny) cabinet. The WD-65734 has matte black. Otherwise they are identical.

Thanks Tom. Just to be clear your response lists the Samsung brand with a Mitsubishi model number. Are you talking about the Mitsubishi? Also, $1,000 price difference seems like alot for a cosmetic difference. How did you get your information?

Oops -- sorry, the information was a typo which I corrected. Sorry! Follow the two links in my reply to go to the Mitsubishi site for specs pages on each TV. They are pretty much word for word the same -- but I must have missed something...

The question about price difference is a stumper. You're right -- I looked on Amazon.com and the only difference there was they described the more expensive 833 model as "Diamond Display" or something. It's not infrequently the case that manufacturers will offer two apparently similar models of a TV and charge different prices, but at least they typically make some claim as to why they want more money for the one! (For example, 2 Sony 40" LCDs, which are about $400 different in price, and identical in specs, and as far as I could see, in picture quality).

The 833 Series includes some key features above and beyond the 734 Series including Smooth120Hz™ for more fluid and smoother moving images free from motion blur; TV Guide On Screen® 9.0; Game FX - 3D game capability; IEEE1394; and an RS232C input.

Also, if you simply go look at the different models, the picture is simply crisper and brighter on the Diamond Series sets (such as the 65833) versus the Mitsubishi Series sets (which the 65734 is).
