Navigon GPS Receivers: 3300, 4300T, and 7300T

Check out this preview of three exciting new GPS receivers from Navigon. If they seem up your alley, stay tuned for fuller, hands-on reviews of these devices in the near future.

Navigon 3300

The Navigon 3300 GPS Receiver has a 4.3-inch widescreen display for presenting vivid, comprehensive route information to the driver. The 3300 utilizes the Navigon MyRoutes feature, which offers three potential routes to your destination, which factor in things like traffic, construction, and other impediments to speedy arrivals. The user can then decide which of the three is the most appealing (comparing for distance, time, and what's along the way) and command the receiver to follow it. The 3300 also offers some advanced features, like Lane Assist and "Reality View," which give a fuller representation of which lanes and exits should be taken in confusing or unclear situations.

Navigon 4300T

The Navigon 4300T GPS Receiver picks up where the Navigon 3300 left off, adding some really excellent features to that device. The T in 4300T stands for 'traffic,' and Navigon provides free traffic alerts for as long as you own this GPS receiver. That's a great deal, considering most other brands require a separate monthly subscription for traffic information. The 4300T represents a step-up from the 3300, with bonus features like Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone use, and "Reality View Pro" which presents lifelike 3D signs to indicate specific maneuvers to be made along the route.

Navigon 7300T

The Navigon 7300T GPS Receiver is in the upper echelon of GPS receivers, but with a suggested retail price of only $399, it's not entirely out of reach for the average consumer. The 7300T has all the helpful features of the 4300T: the free, real-time traffic information, the hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, and the Navigon MyRoutes versatility. Still, the 7300T manages to distinguish itself with some remarkable perks. For one, it's capable of accepting voice commands, letting drivers keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. It allows deeper information on points of interest with scenic data provided by Rand McNally and restaurant reviews from Zagats. To top it off, the 7300T is capable of displaying realistic, 3D images of landmarks as well as topographical features like hills, mountains, and other landscape elements for unparalleled context and accuracy.
